Swimming Pool

Measures 10’ x 8’ x 4’ deep and is an adequate size for rehabilitation. The temperature of the water is kept around 29/30 degrees.  The water is chlorinated and also filtered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure good water sanitization.   All dogs wear either a buoyancy jacket or harness and are accompanied in the water with us, which helps to reassures them.   As this may be their first time in water, we try to ensure that their first experience of hydrotherapy is as enjoyable as possible.  Whilst in the pool with them, we can make sure and encourage improved range of motion, balance and core strength. 

Don’t be put off by the short time initially your pet spends in the pool/treadmill; this will increase slowly over a period of time as their fitness/condition improves.  Over exercising, even in water, can be detrimental and thus slow down your pet’s recovery.
